Letter from Board of Directors' President

Have you ever stopped to think just how powerful a small act of kindness can be? A smile, a kind word, a friendly voice - these are little things that make indelible impressions on another's heart.

Meals on Wheels volunteers bring these small but powerful gifts to others five days a week. To an elderly person or a shut-in who can't, or doesn't want to take the trouble to prepare a nutritious noontime meal, the benefit of a delivery from one of our volunteers is doubly rewarding. Not only does the individual receive a hot meal, but he or she also receives a kind word and a smile from another human being. For some, it may be the only personal contact they have with another during the entire day.

For 43 years TLC Meals on Wheels has been carrying out its mission of service and compassion. We are especially fortunate to operate in a community in which individuals, service organizations, schools, businesses and churches play a vigorous and critical role in our success.

We are also blessed with a dedicated staff and more than 200 volunteers who ensure that our daily operations run smoothly.

So you see, Meals on Wheels isn't just about getting food to the elderly or the ailing. Meals on Wheels is a telling statement of who we are as a community and what we care about.

If you would like to volunteer, or if you know someone who needs our services, we urge you to contact us today.

Sincerely,
Diane McClymonds
President, Board of Directors.

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.
